Elias didn’t really have a reason to be at the Shrieking Shack other than his curiosity was getting the better of him. He’d heard stories about it of course, that it was the most haunted house in Britain which considering the number of ghosts that frequented the halls of Hogwarts must’ve been plenty. He’d also heard of its previous uses and the history associated with its crooked beams and creaking boards.
That wasn’t to say that Eli was brave enough to step over the threshold and attempt to enter. Although the first year would argue that bravery had absolutely nothing to do with it and that it was that he wasn’t stupid enough to do it that was holding him back.
He’d taken the long pathway down, wrapped up warm in his cashmere coat that was a little too big for him still but had been a present from his Grandfather for his birthday. He halted by the fence, close enough to be able to spot anything odd occurring from behind the boarded up windows but distant enough to avoid any trouble. His eyes flickered between the windows in anticipation.
