He could also be completely wrong and this statue was nothing special at all. But something told him there was something else lurking behind it. Call it instinct! He reached for the statue and began poking it in random places, hoping to find a switch somewhere.
He was so focused on his work that he hadn't noticed the temperature drop in the hallway until the ghost of Slytherin House approached. The first year shivered slightly and then jumped in surprise upon hearing the remark.
"I am" he replied, he didn't feel as if he was doing anything wrong, so there was no reason to lie, right? "But aren't we all up to something though, Sir...uhm...." He scratched the back of his head. "...how should I call you?"He'd heard about the House ghosts and he knew this was one of them, but Merlin's Beard had no idea what their names were.
Sir Bloodiness proudly drew himself up in his full height. It was always quite remarkable to watch the reactions from humans to his presence. It was quite a pity the child wasn’t up to no good. Sir Bloodiness would have used him as entertainment.
“Quite right you are, child. Whether it be good, whether it be bad. I gather you’re not up to the latter.” Bored as he was, the Baron had never, nor will ever goad a student into mischief.
“You may call me ‘The Bloody Baron’ or ‘Sir Bloodiness’.” There was a pause as the ghost continued to survey the child with a deep haunting stare.
“Pray tell, what may I call you and why did you look so baffled a minute ago?”
