Hogwarts RPG Name: Sloane Aubrey Knott Slytherin Fifth Year | Quote:

Until now. And the only reason he was hurtling towards it at speed now (from approximately one metre away, meaning his speed was not all that fast) was because he'd dropped his harmonica. And said harmonica had bounced along the floor and then over the edge of the fountain.
Should a harmonica bounce so much? The answer was no, but he'd asked his dad to charm it so that it wouldn't be damaged when he dropped it. And his dad had made it bouncy.
With a dramatic grapple at thin air, Reuben gasped as the instrument dropped into the water. Now what was he supposed to do?! With flushed, cherry blossom cheeks, the first year Slytherin was heading back to the castle after spending an early morning out in the grounds in the frosty air. There had been a subtle chill in the air that morning that almost made it hard for the first year to breath as she trudged back up the hill towards the bridge and back to the castle. She was however dressed appropriately for this, if albeit a little scruffy. This may have had something to do with the navy, woolly hoodie that she was wearing but she couldn’t help it. It was her comfort hoodie and one of the only pieces of clothing that she’d retained over the summer after moving homes. With her hood up, hoodie pulled down to her knees and her hands covered by the long sleeves, she’d just walked over the wooden bridge and into the courtyard when she suddenly came to a halt.
There wasn’t a lot going on in the courtyard so needless to say, her eyes were instantly locked on the older boy who seemed to be chasing something across the courtyard towards the…Never mind. Sloane watched from the entrance, her eyes moving quickly from the object to the boy who was running rapidly after it! Not quick enough to actually catch it though.
Walking over with her usual stoic expression, she headed straight for him silently, not even saying a word to him as she rolled up next to him, her eyes instead on the object in the fountain which turned out to be a harmonica. Part of her was glad that it was in there because they were so annoying! After a moment of silence, she pulled her backpack off of her back. took out a large, golden coin, tossed it into the fountain and watched as it caused a ripple to emanate briefly across the water. “Maybe you should ask the fountain to be a little quicker. That was hard to watch,” her face still stoic and deadpan as she turned to look at him for the first time. Bless him, he looked out of breath and yet, there was a vacant, dopey look to his expression that almost made her feel sorry for him as she looked up at him. Although, that could also have been to do with his floppy, brown hair too. It looked sad. He was slightly taller but not enough that it made her neck hurt as she looked up at him. “I bet you’re glad no one else saw that.” |
