The train ride had been uneventful enough that Giselle had plaited the sides of her hair out of boredom by the time they’d arrived in Hogsmeade, and the hairstyle had survived the carriage ride up to the castle and beyond. Long enough that she’d begun to toy with the end of one of the braids as the Sorting had dragged on, seated at her usual spot at the table. The third year was proud to say she had a usual spot, even, but still, it really seemed like the proceedings were dragging on this year. She didn’t remember it taking this long last term, and she was hungry.

Come to think of it, she contemplated checking to see if she had a snack with her, considering she hadn’t tried to smuggle Mysaria into the feast again this year. Therefore, the cat wouldn’t have eaten anything if there was anything, but sadly she came up empty. There was a possibility Phoebe had something, but her sister hadn’t apparently arrived yet.

And Regulus had taken the ickle firstie girl under his wing, so she didn’t have to although she gave him a nod to acknowledge she’d seen it. Having a minion might’ve been nice, but maybe later. Besides, it seemed like they were gaining plenty of firsties this term. Some older kids too. There’d be all sorts of possibilities for minions. Or other qualifications.
