It was uncharacteristic of her to not point out the red to the other girl’s cheeks, because from experience it usually just made a blush even deeper and she thought that was cute as well. Perhaps it was the fact they were supposed to be hanging out for an extended period of time with a third party, though she supposed she also wouldn’t be that surprised if this was some type of set up Avery had concocted. Why else would she want to hang out with both of them at the same time?
“You make a good point there. You also can’t really do the ‘think like the missing person’ route with Avery either because her thoughts are always so all over the place.” Which probably sounded like an insult, but honestly she thought it was impressive how not predictable the girl was. Shay herself was pretty predictable at this point in her life - something she wouldn’t have seen coming before. She didn’t mind it though, there was something nice about a routine and the familiar. Though that didn’t mean she couldn’t still shake things up now and again.
While she’d behaved and not mentioned the earlier blush, there was no amount of self control the red head could have had to stop her from taking the bait with Julia’s statement about the cafe. It occurred to her she might not have meant it as an open flirt, but she was who she was so she was still going to take it as an invitation to be a little bolder. “I’m sure I’ll be back to do just that. I’m glad you’re equally as excited to see me again already.” She winked before her attention was drawn to the hummingbird.
The familiar voice got an immediate snort of amusement from Shay, as she shook her head fondly. “Well, i certainly think we can make a pretty good guess on what came up.” No anger from her though, she didn’t much mind.
