Maria was still wiping her nose and eyes with her handkerchief when Vera offered her a clip that she could put on her nose against the heavy perfume smells. Luckily if Maria borrowed the clip than Kion wasn't there to stare at her nose contraption.
The further they got into the store, and the more space they put between them, and the perfumes display made Maria's nose thank merlin stop itching enough that she'd sneeze. It would be hard to focus on the errand she was her with her friend to buy if she kept sneezing. Raising her brows in suprise and mild confusion Maria asked "Now you want to dye your hair red and gold like the lions, but I thought you wanted pink or more black?" Nodding she considered her question. "I think it's still popular to just dye some strands of hair another colour. It seems sensible too because then you can feel in you like the colour your trying out or not. Didn't your housemate Remy dye her hair last year?" Or had Maria misremembered? Could she get her daddy's to allow her to dye a few strands of her bushy big hair blue or bronze? Nah, maybe it'd look super weird. That was why nailpolish was safer.
Thinking about Kion made Maria's face glow with warmth. "We had a date at floreans just the other day actually. I think I'm in love with Kion..." Oops she hadn't meant to blurt that out.. "Erm, so what's going on with you and Logan? Any news?"
At the polite decline for the nose clip, Ve nodded in understanding before pocketing the contraption again. She could certainly understand hesitancy in wanting to use it - after all, it was certainly not the most fashionable thing someone could use for adornment. But… it was practical.
"Had to purchase for my job. When they say junk forager they really mean junk forager. Some of the places around the alley are so stinky!" Not that she was ever in love with the idea of running into anyone either with it on but… it was almost unavoidable at this point.
The lioness was pleased to see her badger adjusting better to the smells the further they moved into the room, and she soon forgot all about the little clip and pungent smells and all of the things. She giggled at the question, throwing her hands up in the air dramatically as she did so.
"See! This is why I need you to keep me focused! I keep getting distracted by other ideas!" Putting her in front of a pretty display was clearly detrimental to her sanity. And her pocketbook.
"Ummm. Maybe???" She didn't pay nearly enough attention to her housemates outside of those she was particularly close to, but now that Maria had mentioned it she DID think maybe Remy's hair had changed color a bit. And she'd always had nice hair regardless of if that was true or not so even the assumption that her hair could be akin to the older girl's seemed like a positive thing.
"I think I'll start all dark. And maybe add in some more caramel-y highlights or low lights or something." Not that she knew the difference. Make up she was now comfortable with - hair things…. Not so much.
But something else she was more comfortable with? Talking about boys. Now, at least, considering that had been more of a recent development. Maria's face was so cute when she talked about Kion and while Ve herself could not fathom the depth of emotion that came with being in LOVE with another person, she also didn't doubt it when Maria said it. Especially not when THAT was how she looked whenever her boyfriend's name came up.
"Do you think you'll tell him?" It really wouldn't be that surprising to her either if it was a reciprocated feeling. As for her?
"Well, no real developments. But maybe you can tell me more about how you and Kion ended up together? My brother tells me I should just… go for it, but actually expressing an interest in someone seems so difficult. How did you do it?"
