"Well, you know how Avery can be," Julia remarked with a shrug. "Time is an illusion according to her. She'd just say she never arrives late to anything and that we showed up far too early." In all honesty, she didn't mind -- it typically gave her enough time to scout out a place and get in the right mindset for whatever would be going on there.

She did have to agree that Avery not showing up with one of them was a bit strange, especially considering this was her idea. "I'll send one out, just to make sure things are alright on her end," the brunette said as she took out her wand. Soon a silver swan emerged and gracefully glided out of the shop. Now all that needed to be done was wait and see if there would be a response.

"Oh, do you come here often? It would seem like this spot was chosen because of you then," she commented as she accepted the hand that had been offered for a few fleeting moments before letting go. "I met Avery earlier this year at the café I work at part-time just a couple doors down. After serving her one caramelatte, I was basically absorbed into her friend group. How about you?"
The flush was cute and just caused Shay's smirk to remain on her face. At least until it was disrupted by a laugh at Julia's very apt description of Avery. Truly, it was just that line of thinking that made the red head get along with the blonde. Perhaps she was not late, but always having something to say to spin a situation to being in her favor was not a foreign concept. "You make a fair point. She'll show up when she shows up." Or she wouldn't, and as long as they knew she wasn't in a ditch somewhere she supposed that was fine as well.

"Good plan." Shay replied, leaning gently against one of the displays behind her as she watched the girl. A swan patronus? That seemed fitting - a creature just as graceful as the conjurer. "Hopefully she is somewhere she can at least give us a head's up. Think we should plan a search and rescue if we don't hear back from her in the next..." She glanced at her watch, trying to determine the usual level of tardiness. "15 minutes?" That seemed a decent enough time frame.

At the question, the red head nodded, taking a glance around the familiar room. "About one of the only reason's I come to Diagon Alley anymore. Not much reason after having graduated." Although she did note Julia mentioned she worked here - a tidbit to file away in case she ever opted to come back and swing through to say a hello. "The joys of meeting someone so extroverted, right?" That also sounded incredibly on point for the missing blondes personality. "Hogwarts. I tried to flirt with her a few times before we were officially friends but always turned down flat." Not that she'd minded, flirting had always been more of just... how she acted, not truly sincere almost all of the time.
