Who said that Terry was talking about Theo when he said about growing old gracefully. Not that he thought he looked particularly old himself. “Twenty-Seven years but yeah, a really long time. Feels like just yesterday..” That was sarcasm, it had been a loooooong couple of decades. The offer of the Butterbeer was accepted with a grateful nod and a ‘thanks’.
To start with Terry had made the effort to keep up with his peers, especially those in the limelight and therefore the ability to maintain some knowledge on their lives was a lot easier. As he moved abroad he found himself unable to maintain those friendships and the truth be told he hadn’t actually communicated with any of them in years. “Sadly not. I caught up with our dormmate Jozsua in Hungary when I was working over there and we traveled for a few months together spontaneously but other than that I haven’t seen anyone else in years.” He did feel a little guilty about it but then no one else had made the effort with him so he didn’t feel too bad about it.
He figured that the retirement age for Quidditch would be a lot younger than in general. “Still trying to stay relevant in the Quidditch world?” he teased. He couldn’t blame him though. “I work for a conservation society, we travel around the world creating reserves and protecting magical beasts.” It was a little more complicated than that but he thought he’d spare Theo the unnecessary details.
