Had he been someone else he might’ve been offended that Joseph thought there was a possibility he was one of those prim and proper types who enjoyed a spot of classical orchestral music. Not that he’d diss anyone who did have that taste but it really wasn’t for him. There was too much focus on strings and not enough lyricism for his liking and after a few minutes he found himself thinking that every piece of music was starting to sound much the same. “We share a room every night, believe me there’s probably not much you don’t know about me by this point.” Unlike the other two, Fynn wasn’t particularly private or quiet when it came to what he enjoyed and didn’t.
Fynley wasn’t exactly a camping connoisseur himself, to be honest he couldn’t actually remember the last time he had indulged in a bit of an outdoor retreat but he’d always liked the idea of it. Not one to be particularly fussed about grooming or keeping clean or avoiding the outdoors, sleeping in a tent surrounded by mates and enjoying live music sounded absolutely idyllic right now. “Let’s do it then. Find a date and a festival to go to and I’ll be there.” He patted his dormmate on the shoulder with his hand.
“Sometimes parents see us as who they want us to be and not for who we actually are.” His shoulders simply shrugged as even as the words flowed out of his mouth he realised he sounded as philosophical as his Dad did. Ironic really. The other ironic thing was that Fynn wasn’t usually one to open up as much as this to anyone. He was always seen as the guy with the smile on his face and bouncing between friendship groups without a care in the world. Clearly his carefree attitude was somewhat of a front in order to avoid admitting that he was struggling internally until the day he was likely to explode.
But for now he was keeping the lid firmly on that jar. Except for when he was with Joseph evidently who for some reason Fynn found it easy to be honest with.
