Of course, one would have to look closely to distinguish these prints from the many other prints in this creature-fillerd area. But these are different. The Hippogriff area seems to have been a particularly favorite spot for the ... who, or what ever made these prints. Maybe a particularly large kneazle...Whatever it was, it didn't stay, but disappeared into the night, leaving a lot of unsettled creatures behind. Logan's reasoning for being down at the barn and pastures wasn't out of boredom. In fact, it was more of a reward for getting his homework assignments finished. Well, one of his assignments had been completed. That, in the boy's mind at least, was worthy of a reward: to go play with Beans.
So that is exactly what the blond intended on doing for a while. The crup's favourite ball had been retrieved, which resulted in Beans bolting for the pastures. Soon the ball was thrown in the air, and the duo played fetch for quite some time. At least until the crup decided to be a bit cheeky and wouldn't return the ball, which resulted in the Gryffindor running after his pet.
That was when he saw the footprints. The dog chase suddenly came to a halt, and Logan was intently eyeing up the prints. Of course, he knew it wasn't an unusual thing to see creature prints in the ground; however, he knew, considering his familiarity with creatures and especially the ones housed here thanks to his mum, that these did not quite belong.
At first he thought they belonged to a kneazle, but these were a bit too large for that... Then a light bulb went off in his brain. Could it be... Wasn't it supposed to be in the... Was the beast still somewhere nearby? There were two options that Logan could now take: either follow the footprints or alert his mum. The former is what he decided to do, at least for now, which led him to the hippogriff area, the crup following after him in an effort to get his attention.
