| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf "Just because you have a good hand doesn't mean you know how to play it well or to its full potential," she retorted with a playful eyeroll. Not to mention that wasn't accounting for anyone else's hands. "Bit defeated a mentality, isn't it?" Backhanded compliments were the sort she was best at giving, typically, and she had a couple more just on the cusp when his words caused a bit of a temporary Obliviate to overcome her consciousness. Bluntness, directness, was something she appreciated...Sadie simply hadn't been expecting it in this moment. "Well...good," she replied while clearing her throat and pushing some of her braids over her shoulder. "I don't think the head could give me discounts at Noltie's." Or pull off floral prints with missing buttons or...anyway. "So...I am confident with current choice of company."
Which was as close to an admission of anything as you were going to get currently, sir.
How many times was he going to cause her to roll her eyes this date? The number seemed infinite at the moment and showed no signs of slowing down. "Current mark is at an E for exceeds expectations," she assured him with a somewhat chaste laugh. "Play that hand of yours correctly and we'll see about it reaching an O." Her focus while holding her rather chatty shrunken head was disrupted and not because of said sassy slander but because of his next admission. "Well, should there be use at play I would prefer it be a mutual exchange on a transparent playing field." Which, considering his caliber of honesty, seemed a rather easy bar to clear.
Gym date officially penciled in, the actually date pending, Sadie rolled her shoulders and attempted to refocus on this ruddy split. She could count the number of times she had actually landed a split on one hand, which was to say the odds were not in her favor to win the bet and two meals presented by Curtis. It caused her a bit of pause while considering the latter part of that statement and the weight it carried...but mostly she did not want to lose. "I've already won the plants," she replied confidently despite them only being in the first frame of the game and many more to go. "But I accept your wager and will let you know now that I have been keen for a good veggie burger recently."
One step...two steps...stride...slide...arm back...swing hips...and release...
To the Ravenclaw's dismay, her head had not curved as anticipated and instead almost seemed to be purposefully trying to roll itself right down the middle for 0 pins. She may as well have just rolled the ball down the gutter. "...well...I hope you enjoy food poisoning," she groaned as she turned around and sashayed her way back to her seat beside his. "Because I am a terrible cook."
