It was like he had walked right off the pages of Witch Weekly or Teen Witch. No, she did not mean that in the sense that he looked like the teen heartthobs that had posters and interviews. No he was like the results of one of the trash quizzes personified and she could literally see the bold stylized font with obnoxious heart accents and Curtis cut out outline in some equally annoying bright color beside the description. Just do not ask her how she knew about these or how she had such a vivid image of what they looked like - she would deny everything. "...or it can be a lesson in how not to be so ridiculous and that you don't need to lay it on so thick." Of course a girl, woman, appreciated a compliment or two...but his approach was overkill for Sadie's tastes. "Hmmm...looks like I get to keep rolling my eyes after all." It had been a low risk bet, truth be told, but it was still nice to have won it. "I like you," she smiled at his shrunken head.

Humming as she popped up from her seat, Sadie adjusted her hold on her shrunken head and began her sashay up to the line. She was in the middle of sizing up her shot when, according to her, he went fishing for information and she had no problem being petty about her experience to now. There had been one exception with Wes, the one date that had followed through and made her feel special...an dthen they had graduated and lost touch while they adjusted to their post-Hogwarts and real world lives. "Well...when you get stood up more often than not or attract basilisks who are entitled enough to tell you they deserve to explore every and all Chamber of Secrets...no one really comes close at all to meeting that expectation bar...and clearing it utterly impossible." Her expectations and standards may have lowered a bit over time due to...a few factors...but showing up was literally the bare minimum.

Rolling her shoulders, Sadie tried to clear her head so she could focus on the pins ahead and line up her shot. It had been a while since she had done any bowling like this, her punch bag and sparring partners always much MUCH closer and lacking a lane with an unpredictable head that could purposefully thwart all technique just by sticking its tongue out. Once she felt like she was in the best postion, she took a deep breath...and step step step...swing back the arm and...RELEASE! Her hips twisted and left foot crossed gracefully behind the right as the head went rolling rolling rolling...8.

And it was a split at that.

"Uuuug, come ON," she groaned while throwing her hands up in the air. She may have said more if she didn't remember that Curtis was behind her. Composing herself, she walked back over and waited for her head to come back through the return shoot. "Where do you go to work out? I mostly use the university's gym. You could tag along with me some morning...or weekend," she said with a very forced calmness - she was still stewing over the split, okay? "That is...really wholesome. I do love a good puppy pile," she smiled, the edge being taken off just a bit by thinking about puppies. She almost wondered if their dads ran in the same circles, but she also really did not want to confirm this. She was fine keeping them, her family, out of this situation. This was also her accepting his invitation without being...too obvious.

Picking up her head as it returned, Sadie found herself craddling it unnecessarily as their conversation turned real for a bit. "It's weird, isn't it? How we will say 'sorry' for things entirely out of our control and as a way so symphathize with another person. My sister, technically, is older too. We're twins...so I'm the youngest." And it was...somewhat of a blended family situation. Little complicated. "Sounds like...you grew up in a really loving home...you're one of the lucky ones, Curtis." Hers hadn't been bad but it was hard to feel very positive about it when your family was broken. Happier apart, sure, but still broken.

He spoke the magic words to pull her out of the small spiral that she was slipping into now: competativeness and betting. "I don't know if you can afford it, Fuller. I am pretty high maintenance when it comes to my plants," she mused while tapping her cheek with her index finger. "...what are you willing to wager here, with this split?"
