A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Daniel's mental strength did not come naturally to him. It was due to the fact that worked tirelessly to perfect his spell work and refused to stop until he was completely satisfied with the outcome. Some days he would spend hours in the library, while others he would spend hours in the practice room, casting spells on the dummies until he was completely satisfied.
Because of this mindset, he had been able to resist the charm but even he began to feel doubt clouding his mind as the Professor spoke again.
Okay? OKAY?! He was freaking out over here! Things were NOT okay from his perspective. He threw his hands in the air in frustration and accidentally shot a few colored sparks out of his wand. They flew in random directions, some were hitting the floor beside him, some hit the wall and some hit the ceiling above him.
The Hufflepuff looked startled for a second and ran a hand through his hair yet again. He truly was a danger to himself right now. The professor had been right. Why had he been so stubborn to deny it when the evidence was right there?
He just needed a short break, that was all. And if handing over his wand for a moment would help relieve the pressure he felt in his head so be it."You PROMISE you'll give it back immediately?" he asked as he began to close the distance between them and held up his wand sideways when he stood in front of them. Though he had not placed it in their hands yet.
