He had expected to be nervous, but as he walked up the platform, he felt strangely calm. Perhaps this was because he was well aware that he had little chance of winning this duel. But he wasn't here to win, at least not now. His main goal was to learn new techniques. He was confident that he could pick up a new combo today.

"I expect to learn a lot from this duel, Professor" he said as he took his wand from its holster and held it beside him in his hand. "I don't think I'll win today, but I'll do my best to give you a challenge." He wasn't inept at dueling. After all, he had years of practice as well.

He bowed respectfully, and when he was sure he could begin, he cast a verbal 'jelly-fingers curse,' followed by a quick and nonverbal 'Trip jinx.'
