Anyone who walked out to the Climbing Tree today would find a troublesome sight. Broken branches are strewn across the ground underneath, foliage is flattened around its trunk, and tufts of grass have been torn up all over the area. It almost looks as if the tree had been blasted by a great storm, but the weather has been clear and cold for days.
