It was different than the usual red, which truthfully she probably would have shied away from as well. "Orange is nice! Orange and blue are also complimentary so when you write them together on a page I bet it'll look extra nice!"
A wand good for duelling? Her brown eyes went WIDE as her mouth dropped into a small O. "Duelling? That sounds exciting!" And like Lally. "I hope mine is good for non-verbals or something!" She liked the idea of being able to cast spells without drawing attention to herself. So she would have been EXTRA excited (and jealous) of the other thing it was good at! At the question of if she'd gotten anything else, she turned a bit red. "Well... no.. I got a little distracted. I think my parents were going to just grab stuff for us!" Though she was supposed to be helping with a divide and conquer type of situation. "What do you still need to get?" Eulalia beamed as Tam complimented her ink choices. Maybe next summer she and her cousin would do their shopping together, and Tam could help her choose more complimentary colors. More beaming, and a slightly taller stance, ensued from Tamara's obviousness with how impressed she was with Lally's wand. "It is exciting," she said, adding "And it's good for non-verbals too. Maybe you'll get one with the same ingredients!"
Was that what wands were made of? Ingredients? It didn't seem like the right word, but...Tam would understand her, probably. Components sounded too technical now that the word had occurred to her. "Hmmmm I still need lots of things," Lally said, trying to remember them all. "Books, mainly. And my new robes?" She looked around, trying to remember which shop she was supposed to meet her parents in. She wasn't sure. At this point, she thought it might be better for her to stay put and just let them find her. Or her aunt or uncle could find them both. Or maybe if she got the cauldron shop right when her parents were finishing up, that would solve all her problems. "I think maybe I need to catch up with mum and dad," she said thoughtfully. Hopefully for robes shopping. That might be fun. |
