As for hugs? He was not incorrect that there hadn't been a surplus of those as he was growing up. Merlin McCarthy had certainly not been a hugger. Cicero and his brother had taken after the man that way, perhaps out of necessity as they were the two from the Squib man who had been 'chosen' to carry the magical gene. Ariadne and Emrys had both been squibs themselves, but what they lacked in ability for spell casting they had certainly made up for in empathy and the desire to seek human affection. He'd always found them baffling for that reason, even as he still accepted hugs now on the rare occasions from his friend. "Brave or stupid? I often hear they're pretty interchangeable." He replied back, an attempt at a joke as he picked an item up off the shelf to examine it closer, only after reading the product card carefully to ensure they're visit wasn't about to result in a St. Mungo's trip. The excited question of snakeskins made the man laugh as he followed Dhruv to where they could be located. "Remind me what snakeskins is good for again?" As for things he hadn't updated him on...? "I somehow got roped into a dating program awhile back. It was terrible, would not recommend." But perhaps that was because he'd been a good 10 years older than majority of the contestants. "And I just recently heard about some new Abraxan fouls I'll be traveling to Ireland to see in about a weeks time. Otherwise... things are very much the same. It's just training, and races with the jockeys, etc." A boring life he led - though not really because he a little bit loved it. "What about you? How is teaching going?"
Maybe someday Cicero would be more open to hugs; after all, hugs were good for the soul. Nevertheless, Dhruv was honoured that Cicero accepted hugs from them. Shh, but they would be sad if their friend refused these hugs!
Oh, their friend had jokes, and they were legit funny ones. This is why Dhruv laughed. “You’re right. I just may have seen you being both brave and stupid in the air.” Smirking, Dhruv made a mental note to keep a close eye on Cicero if he didn’t mind picking up artefacts, regardless if they were harmless or not. “Making booths and belts, for starters. These, however.” Dhruv pointed at the poisonous looking type on display. They made a face. “Let’s not speculate.” Then they were making another face. “Not going to jump into that, I assure you.” For more reasons than one on their part. “No one took to your fancy then?” Dhruv asked with interest. The mention of Abraxan foals was so nostalgic for them; it took them right back to the good ole winged horse racing days. “How long will you be staying? Also, send some pictures? Baby abraxans are the purest.” How was teaching for them? “The first term went quite well, actually. Everyone has been quite welcoming and accepting. I’ll definitely be returning next term.” |
