They were definitely on the list of the cooler things at school.
“Nice to meet you too,” she echoed before biting the inside of her cheek as she thought on how to answer. She wouldn’t say boring since she had had fun, especially her adventure to the Shrieking Shack with a certain Hufflepuff. But it had been quieter than some of the things Raj had talked about. NOT that she would have preferred a first year like her big brother had , the one she and Dy weren’t totally allowed to know about but certainly had seen the effect it had had on him.
“It was…enjoyable,” Nadia finally settled on. She just hoped she had a chance on the quidditch team eventually as she got older.
It was definitely nice to find other students with common interests. Not that Vera wasn't open and willing to talk to anyone, but when she could find people who were able to have a conversation about something instead of her just talking at them... it was always an enjoyable experience.
"Definitely not the only ones. I mean... that extra curricular that was put on last term had some interest?" She was not great at drawing literal representations which had been the assignment but... it was still fun. And seeing other people's good art work was even more so.
A benefit of not having an older sibling (biologically or legally), was that Vera didn't not know much of the fine details of what happened at Hogwarts years prior to their enrollment. She knew there was a war, she'd seen the plaque in the courtyard and everything, but she didn't know exactly what had happened to the students. Which was probably a good thing for her own mental status. She would have been sorry to hear what the students had gone through, even more so once she realized that those were students she had met personally and cared about. But she also would have been endlessly grateful for how tame her years had been in comparison. She hadn't known just how lucky she actually was.
"It's usually more exciting, I swear. We had a nice quiet year which... is good! But something FUN or positive type of event would be kind of cool... like, in years past there were tournaments! With other schools! Wouldn't that be cool to be involved in?" She doubted it was going to happen again in her time at Hogwarts but... a girl could dream.
"You looking forward to not being the youngest class any more? Because able to show the first years around is really fun!"
