It would seem that the term had been relatively quiet, but that didn't make much of a difference for the fourth year as he blindly made his way to their table, his nose buried in a notebook reading his wizarding chess notes for the nth time. It was, after all, that time of the year for him when he shifts from being a student to Mackenzie the wizarding chess player. Tuning out the noise from all the chatter, the Slytherin chewed on his lip as he went over his scribbles, notes, and most importantly, master stroke moves from former Headmaster Walter Aragon, and Headmaster Brian Gagwilde. Noah had been right... the Portraits were helpful.
Speaking of Headmasters, their own had risen from his throne and onto the dais to give his end-of-term speech. Nothing noteworthy as far as Mackenzie could tell, and he was definitely not one to feel sad or melancholic over the graduating students. It's not as if their worlds were ending after Hogwarts.
As soon as the food arrived, Mackenzie tucked away his notes and began to eat. He didn't plan on staying long to party and mingle, just take his own fill of sustenance for the night, and perhaps have a last-minute conversation with the chess masters' portraits again before turning in for the night.
