As his sister she wasn't going to do anything to upset him unnecessarily. Therefore she felt no need in bringing things up when there was no reason to do so. There when it came to certain topics her mouth remained closed unless it brought up by him first. And if it was, well then she was more then willing to talk about whatever it was he needed to talk about.
