Raj was all for outdoor activities, regardless of whether or not creatures were involved. And he had made the promise to his dads to keep to the fun things as much as the studying he was doing outside of classes. So he had thrown his cloak over his clothes, tied his house scarf around his neck and made it down to the grounds following the helpful flames that led the way. There was definitely a chill in the air for late December but thankfully he found they were outside but also INSIDE one of the domes. A happy medium to better enjoy the evening.

“Good evening, Professor Gert,” he greeted the astronomy professor first as it was her gathering then noticing his head of house was also there. “Hello Professor Carton.” Taking in his surroundings, Rajesh thought he noticed something falling outside over the shoulders of the adults. “So what’s the surprise?” he mused curiously.

It appeared her news of interesting happenings had only excited the seventh year further. Thankfully he wouldn’t have to wait much longer, a glance at her watch telling her so as long as her notations were accurate. “Of course,” Celeste said with a nod as he took his leave for some hot chocolate. Ah there was the young Mr. Fox joining the group and partaking in the goodies that the house elves had helped her prepare. “Hello Mr. Fox.” Hopefully the warmth of the dome would be enough for the young boy who seemed completely bundled up.

Oh goodie they were getting more and more people to join the gathering. “Hello, Ms. Marchand,” she said returning the girl’s greeting and smiling at the compliment. “Why thank you,” Celeste remarked. “You look very pretty yourself.” And look. Well…well…well, a certain transfiguration professor had decided to join them as well. “Guid evening, Norman,” the astronomy professor greeted her colleague before nodding. “Aye…that it is…and nearly time for the best part.”

Was it just her or were the Hufflepuffs greatly outnumbering the other houses. Maybe it was the out of doors. “Guid evening, Ms. Cloud,” she greeted the sixth year in return. No look…another one of Carton’s own house, the seventh year earning a smile. “Guid evening Mr. Atreyu-Rehman,” she greeted before adding, “You’ll see…”

Because it was probably about time she drop the mystery. The astronomy professor moved into he center of the dome to gather everyone’s attention. “Welcome! I’m sure you all are curious as to why I planned this gathering,” she began, her voiced raised to the tone she used when teaching. “Well, its because this year…this month…this week lined up on the astronomical calendar for a treat. “ She had been quite pleased when she had been setting up her lesson plans for the year and realized this information, knowing from the get-go she had to share it with her students.

“If ye look aloft, particularly in the direction ye find Ursa Minor,” she instructed, pointing to the north where the constellation was currently situated, “ye will begin to see the Ursid Meteor shower.”
