See, Sailor could appreciate more knowledge. Not to be a Ravenclaw or anything, but he enjoyed research. Specifically research that happened when he was most inspired for the lack of a better term. "You know where to find me." She probably didn't, but if Vera came across him here of all places, maybe she was lucky enough to find him again. Or the practical means, of sending a charmed note. However, he was especially intrigued when she raised five fingers. He looked at her, ready to hear it all. Once she was done, he'd go with his imaginary five fingers too. He didn't want to raise a hand, so she can pretend that he was. "One, they do eat slop, but not just. If people only fed slop to farm pigs, where bacon comes from, I bet you would not look at bacon the same way again." Would you like slop in your system, Vera? Because Sailor wouldn't. He could already hear his mother and father going on about what constituted proper nutrition, and slop was not a part of it. "Two, subjective superiority doesn't cancel out that you can obtain leather from them." Horses were fine, he supposed. He hadn't any particular inclinations for them. "Three, same as the second. Four, that's fine. And five, I'll consider that one case closed." She hadn't mentioned a fifth, so there was nothing for him to attempt rebutting. "I figure the Creatures professor would know more about pigs than me." And by extension, mud-related anything, as well as the snail and slug dilemma Vera had earlier. Professor Paton seemed more than capable.

"What's in the boathouse?" Sailor asked, genuinely curious about what she found there to consider it her 'happy' place. To be fair, he had not been there in a while. He wasn't really the swimming type. But now he had to throw something out to answer her question, even though the concept of a happy place still was strange to him. "Uh. My family's restaurant's kitchen," the Ravenclaw offered. Nothing exactly happy going on in there, but there was food and it smelled great all the time, if not for the smell of smoke that stuck to one's clothes from all the cooking. That should be...conceptually happy enough to her, he supposed.

And would you look at that! One shoe was now untied. Sailor moved to his other shoe, slowly working on those laces now. He occasionally stopped to watch Vera, trying to make it as casual as possible so she wouldn't note that he was stalling. "I guess so, if you want to stay here longer than necessary." It felt like far too much work for Sailor, especially if he had to fish for lost things here. He liked shiny and potentially expensive things, obviously, but any additional labour would just make it lose its appeal quickly. It's why he preferred sleight of hand...not that anyone had to know.
