- Regulus was born in Sicily, to an Italian-British mother, whose large extended family belonged to a crime syndicate operating across Europe.
- He was raised by his mother with help from her family members, who aimed to mould his personality into what his mother considered the ideal, and to provide him with a top tier education.
- When he was six years old, he began to be left periodically on his father's doorstep with no warning, sometimes left with his father for weeks at a time.
- When he was nine years old, Regulus was present at a family function when Aurors raided the property, taking all of the adults and older youths into Ministry custody, after fierce duelling. One member of the family escaped; Regulus' uncle - his mother's twin brother - has not been seen since. The Italian Ministry had been tipped off by an anonymous informant, who enabled them to procure what they needed to make arrests and charge each member of the family.
- Regulus' mother and her family members each received numerous lengthy sentences.
