Yep, she'd been right, they were all first years. Nora, and Lev. Who was interested in her violin. "Yes, I play violin," she said simply. She wasn't one to chat too much unnecessarily, but if he asked she'd happily show him how to find the music room at Hogwarts, where she usually but not always did her practicing.
Then yet another first year joined the compartment, and the chatter was growing to be a bit too much for Daisy. She'd been hoping for a quiet train ride. "Um, you all have fun getting to know each other," she said politely. "I'm going to, um...find the food trolley. The professors are very nice, very smart. Good luck with your sortings!" She gathered her violin and her cat, since she wasn't actually planning on going to the food trolley, or on coming back to this compartment. She could chat with the first years some other time, if they wanted. Maybe not all together though. |
