Not a TON, but it wasn't unheard of! She nodded in understanding when she explained how some wizards had shown up and explained the whole muggleborn thing to her - Nancy honestly found it FASCINATING how genes could just do away and be dormant for so long and then just...pop up again like that. Genetics and all that. One muggle thing Nancy actually wished she could learn a bit more about, because it certainly wasn't on the curriculum at Hogwarts.
"Yeah, just a bit," she chuckled when Nora said that was a lot of kids - it WAS, but Nancy liked it that way. It felt cozy in her house, and she could always sit back and just watch her siblings cause chaos if she wanted to. "It'll be nice to have Moritz around when I get there. Joey on the other hand..." she wrinkled her nose a little in annoyance. She was QUITE certain her older brother would not be as thrilled to have her hanging around the school with him. The only way they'd be forced to hang out together would be if they were sorted in the same house.
"Anyways...has anyone told you about what Hogwarts is actually LIKE? With the houses and what you'll be studying and all that?" she asked, curious but also open to sharing any info Nora needed!
Nora's facial expression changed from despair to hope to excitement.
"Oh, thank Merlin!" she exclaimed. Wait a second...was that a wizarding phrase that had just come out her mouth?
Oh, please tell me it's not rubbing off on me! "So that's the plan! I'll make do with these next seven years, and then I'll just edge my way back into the normal world!" Things were looking better already!
Nora wasn't exactly sure she and Nancy shared the same opinions on siblings. She couldn't read what was going through the other girl's mind, but Nancy didn't exactly seem upset about all those brothers and sisters. Then again, she only had
one more sibling than Nora did...
"I wish I had older siblings at Hogwarts," she replied. Then she wouldn't feel so alone. She wasn't even sure she
wanted to be friends with witches and wizards, but they'd be all she had soon.
"Yes, my mom of all people. She's apparently become some sort of expert on the magical world ever since she learned I was a part of it," Nora explained.
"She's read some books and has been spewing out random facts for the last few months. I know what the four houses are, and I know the list of subjects I'll be taking. The other stuff just went in one ear and out the other." Remembering that she'd once wished she had actually paid more attention to all those random facts, she added,
"Is there something else I should know?"
