Starting his fifth year... Daniel sighed deeply as he thought about his own fifth year. One word to describe that year would be 'stressful'. He shrugged his shoulders as he picked up another book. He had two E's among the O's, so how was he going to explain to this guy that he believed he had failed when his grades had been near perfect? His own brother had called him crazy for having such an opinion. However, receiving an Exceed Expectation TWICE was a failure if your sole objective had been to receive Outstanding on every exam, wasn't it? "I did well, I guess...." His thoughts went to Victoria for a moment now they were talking about O.W.Ls and he hoped that his tutoring had not been in vain.

” Do you enjoy reading?” he asked, attempting to change the subject. OWLS were stressful to think about at the moment.
Finn gathered the bags around his feet and handed them over to the other boy. It was no problem, really. Anything to avoid anyone else tripping, in his opinion. At the disappointed sigh, though, Finn was concerned. O.W.L.s were over for this boy and he was still reacting like that? It was not promising. Finn wondered if he needed to find a study guide or two while he was here. He could share it with Lydia and Matilda, if nothing else.

"You guess?" he was further confused when the boy said he'd done well on his O.W.L.s. It was such a contradictory statement, given his initial reaction. Maybe there was some other circumstance that had him stressed about the exams. Maybe Finn didn't need to worry.

"Yes, I like reading, I guess," Finn said with a shrug and a nod. He didn't hate it. Depending on the topic, it could be interesting. He did like shopping in the bookstore. "I'm Finn," he added, hoping the other boy would also supply his name. Since this was becoming less of a polite transactional exchange and more of an actual conversation.
