(After, of course, being lost by her brother and a small adventure of her own and being found by her parents and a gentle scolding and a reminder that "Hogwarts was a privilege" and blah blah blah.)

This was really it. Her own wand. She had waited eleven years, nine months, and twenty-one days for today. The day she would get her very own wand. With which she would learn her very own spells. With which she would impress her Da and help her big sister cook someday. This was the start of, well, everything.

Smile firmly plastered on her face, fists clenched at her sides, hardly daring to breathe for fear she might squeal with joy, Sophia stood as still as could be as she waited her turn for her wand measurements. The stillness was the only reasonable way to prevent herself from BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS WITH EXCITEMENT. When it was finally her turn, she took a deep breath, then relaxed a bit so the magical measuring tape could measure her. Was she tall? Would she get a tall wand? She was certainly mature for a first year, see how much calmer she was than the other eleven-year-olds? Soph was certain she'd get a wand that recognized her decorum and, well, that she was nearly twelve already. She giggled as the measuring tape zipped along her arms. That tickled!!

It was a busy sort of day to day, but Zeke would certainly never consider that a bad thing. Alright, he'd not stopped all day and the soles of his feet were starting to complain, and his knees had taken it upon themselves to remind him that he was mere days away from the big four-zero, but the wandmaker was still smiling.

Customers like this next one made it easy; enthusiasm was infectious. "Hello hello hello!" Zeke greeted her, consulting the measurements supplied by his tape measure, hmm-ing, then excusing himself. A moment later and he was back again, now with a selection of wand boxes in his hands.

"You know what to do?" he asked his customer, opening up one of the boxes so as to offer the wand inside, then going ahead an explaining anyway. "Give this a wave, and we'll see what happens. Tell me if it feels like the one." She'd know. They often knew right away.

She felt bad about his current situation, and he thought she needed fresh air. And he hated being lonely, and needed someone to be here for him. He entered the shop, protectively holding her hand(Ash was quite certain that she was protecting him). He took in every detail- the wand boxes, the measuring tape, the other kids and the staff. The chaos- organized.

He could tell that he was supposed to stand by the measuring tape. He didn't like it and it was much too close to him for him to feel comfortable. He stood perfectly still as it measured too many things and was secretly relieved when it left. Then he stepped out of the way, taking up his older sister's hand again, and waited properly for one of the staff members to assist him.

There were too many people in here.

Preoccupied as he was, dealing with something in the back room - the 'something' in question being a minor shelf collapse that had occurred earlier during an unsuccessful wand match, though one that produced effects with impressive range - Zeke had enchanted the parchment of measurements to come and find him when it was ready for him.

And find him it did, the parchment having rolled itself up and thwapped him on the head without warning, taking him by surprise rather than causing any real distress.

So the first seen of Zeke was his emerging from the back room with a small stack of wand boxes, smiling genially at his customer and his chaperone. "Hello there," he greeted them kindly, setting the boxed down. "Ready to see if we can's find your wand? Here we are, give this a wave, and we'll see what's what." With that, Zeke opened up the box on top of the stack, and tilted it forward so that the wand inside could be taken out.

Who’s slightly older than you are and has an inanimate object super interested in her violin-playing arms right now?” Dy giggled, having her own fun with the tape. Not for longer though - the shopkeep suddenly appeared, leaving the bright eyed girl staring up at him. “Hi, hi, hi!” came an enthusiastic greeting, mirroring the man’s triple greeting. “It’s extremely hot out there, Mister. Ten/ten would recommend not leaving your shop.” She threw him a toothy smile then eyed the boxes that had been brought out.

Was her new wand somewhere in one of those??!

When the first wand was offered, Dy eagerly took it. Her first thought was that it felt extremely cold in her hand. Dy wrinkled her nose in uncertainty, her spirit not quite taking to the object. Still, the wand was waved. A strong gust of wind shot from it, and much to her horror, it headed straight for the shopkeeper and his boxes. With a soft gasp at the prospect of destruction, the eleven year old scrambled to give back the wand. “Sorry! But I don’t think this one is for me.”

Zeke let out a small chuckle. "I'm likely to be in here until closing in any case, but feel free to browse for a while if you want to stay somewhere relatively cool." Cool as in temperature-wise, at all. Reviews were hugely varied as to the figurative coolness of his shop.

But this wand business, ye-

Instinctively screwing up his face against the blast of air - though not drawing his own wand as his reflexes were quick enough to tell him he wouldn't need it - Zeke clamped his hands down over the remaining wand boxes on the counter, to ensure they came to no harm. After a moment, when the air around him was calmer, he peeked one eye open, then the other. All fine? All fine.

"Not to worry." He took the first wand back, and instead opened up the second box. "Why don't you try this one next?"

And there was the shopkeeper ready with his arms filled with boxes. Nadia watched with interest as he went to work with her sister, talking about the weather and all. It was a nice out which certainly was a good thing for London. From what she had heard anyway, they didn’t spend all that much time there. She was quite patient in waiting her turn until he moved to assist her as well. “Hello sir,” she greeted back with a polite smile, her attention slipping to the other pile of boxes that he was offering for her to try.

This was it. The incoming first year was curious as to just how she would know what felt right. Only one way to find out.

She followed his instruction, reaching inside the opened box to take out the wand offered there. It didn’t feel different upon first touch, her small fingers wrapping around the wood. Then taking a deep breath, Nadia moved it like the adults around her always did and nothing happened causing her to make a face. “Not that one I guess,” she answered, placing it back in the box. At least she wasn’t threatening the shopkeeper like the other girl.

Meanwhile, this wand had not performed. Zeke didn't press the matter; if it produced no effect and his young customer did not sense some kind of affinity with the wand, then it was likely not a match.

"I think you may be correct," he agreed, and shuffled the boxes to bring a different one to the top, after a moment of consideration given how the first had performed. Or not performed, as the case may be. Having decided, he removed the lid from the next box, and offered the wand inside to the girl. "Let's see if you fare better with this one."

She haven't seen much things magical so she was intrigued by it. She was excited she couldn't wait to get measured and her wand.

After a bit of waiting, it was finally her turn to get measured finally for her wand. Walking forward she stood still as it measured under her arms making her giggle a bit cause it tickled. After a few measurements she was done and ready to see what the shopkeeper had in store for her. She was excited and nervous at the same time, she seen some break vases and set fire to things, she hoped she didn't cause too much damage.

There was no stopping for Zeke today, but he didn't mind at all. After seeing one customer off, it was swiftly on to the next, consulting the measurements as he went, which had been recorded by his tape measure and collected by an enchanted piece of parchment. He visiting different shelves for the wands with the most promise, then joined his next customer.

"Hello there." His voice was kind, and his smile friendly. "Now, you know what to do? Just take the wand and give it a wave, we'll see what happens, and you can tell me if it feels like the right one for you." With that, he removed the lid of the first wand box with a flourish, and offered its contents to the girl.

He was going to dread getting on that train and leaving home for a Castle full of unfamiliar faces and most of all, his Mama wasn't going to be there. Ewy wasn't a fool. He knows Mama can't go with him. She's a muggle. Her being there would not be good for her. Also she has a job and is finishing school herself. That didn't mean he wasn't allowed to miss her lots. AND HE WOULD...oh he planned to make it a big deal getting on that train when the time came.

That was neither here nor there at this moment. At this moment, Ewy would focus on his excitement. A Wand Fitting! HIS WAND!! One he could call his own and do the spells he would learn with it. He took his place and the Measuring Tape begin it's work. Ewy stretched his arms out when it needed to get their lengths. He tried to suck his gut in but the tape was having none of it. It tickled him under his armpit until he chuckled and let his gut back out. Letting the measuring tape finish it's work.

That measuring tape of his was a wily one, no two ways about it. Zeke had witnessed its little ploy just then, huffing out a soft little laugh to himself while he waited for it to finish up, and then stepping in to take over.

"Hello there," he greeted the boy, scanning through the measurements that had been collected, then promptly wandering the shop to take down a few wand boxes of different combinations and possibilities. Just a small handful, and then he was back. "So! Let's find you your wand, shall we?" As he had done countless times before, Zeke removed the lid ceremoniously from the first box, and offered the wand inside to his customer, with a tiny little bow. "Just give it a wave, and we'll see how you go."
