So, he knew of trouble but was still curious. His loss if he got soaked. Gideon was keeping his distance though couldn’t see himself just taking his leave of the scene after delivering his warning. It seemed he still had his knight-iAn-shining-armor behavior named by Selina even when he wasn’t working at saving people at work.

Oh, so Magical Law Enforcement was investigating the fountain…now?!

“Not in recent years.” He had learned to be wary of it until it became second nature to be just far enough away as to not summon whatever magic cause its actions towards the unsuspecting passerby. “Had a few incidents with it…” Gideon actually had to think how long it had been since he had been school shopping, “about 30 or so years back.” So yeah, it wasn’t exactly a recently begun issue. It could have easily gone on many many more years before that.

Not in recent years. Mmm… perhaps someone had done an investigation of this fountain then and had fixed – well, some of the problems. Because just then the fountain decided to spit at him. His head shook just a little, a movement that probably was not even perceivable really. The water splashed on the ground just short of his boots; he hadn’t moved. Hugo made a mental note to have his assistant pull all the files they could find when he got back to the office. He’d add it to the list of things he wanted his team to investigate this year. Did he have a paranoia regarding water? Yes. Yes Hugo did and it didn’t entirely stem from the fact that he could not swim. Nope, the events of the last year (or four) would probably leave him wary of water for the rest of his life. He just hoped it didn’t evolve to include showers.

No, that wouldn’t happen. Hugo’s next biggest fear was being smelly.

”Are there any other items around here that – exhibit similar behaviors?” Hugo spent as much time in Diagon Alley as the next wizard, but it didn’t hurt to ask others for their observations too.

And just like that, the other man was getting a taste of the fountain’s medicine. Gideon might have laughed at the absurdity of the situation had he not have his own prior experiences with the fountain as a child. He HAD warned him though. Not that his companion seemed to ruffled by the occurrence. No harm no foul just getting a little wet after all, not connecting the scene with the happenings the Prophet had made him aware of pertaining to the Atlantis situation.

“Not that I’m aware of,” he answered after a moment’s pause to think. Even as a former shopkeeper on the alley. Granted there had been interesting happenings but mostly from people and creatures and mostly before his time and passed on in stories. The close call of the mutants nearly destroying the ancient grimoire in Slug and Jiggers had nearly brought Nigel to tears in the sharing. "Some of the longer term shopkeepers might have more information."
