Vera was genuinely TRYING to get to Professor Paton's class NIIIIICE and EARLY. Mainly because it was Logan's mom, which meant SHE knew Vera's Papa and that meant that anytime she was particularly late or uh... Vera-like, word might get back to Papa and then she'd have to deal with the disappointment. And Papa being disappointed was one of her LEAST favorite things, which was really rather difficult when it seemed a natural response to her most favorite things.

Skipping down with her peers, she beamed at Professor Paton. "Hi Professor Logan's mom! Will we get to learn about and handle a basilisk today??" Did she ask this question the start of every CoMC class? Absolutely.
