She too had something in hand and had used some of her tip money from Noltie's to slip into the till before ending her shift and grabbing a bag of the freshest fertilizer to offer David as a 'welcome back' gift. She had even placed a bronze color ribbon upon it - quite thoughtful of her.
Her only thoughts regarding the location were that, perhaps, there was a certain separation anxiety he now had with water and preferred to be near it. There had been, after all, some rather curious occurrences at the Ministry over the course of this whole ordeal.
Approaching him with casual stride, she stopped just a few paces from him and took note of the white rose before lifting her gaze to look upon his delicately sunken features properly. "Hello, David." There was even a hint of a smile as she spoke and cradled the bag of the Noltie's finest fertilizer in her arms. "I am much relieved to see you well and back above land." The fountain did indeed feel a bit like home, now that he thought about it. But before he could think too deeply on it, or start stripping down to his socks to jump in and bathe in it, Valerie showed up.
"Hello," he greeted, turning on his heel and sparing her a rare smile back. Well, rare for these days. "I am, in fact, above water, breathing and everything." It was weird. He held out the white rose from his greenhouse. "For you."
Davi was very serious about it now, the smile all gone. "Thank you. I can't say thank you enough for keeping my plants alive." He'd let this flower be a start though. "How did you know? That I was one of the kidnapped?" He studied her seriously, his earnest blue eyes popping without the aid of any glasses today.
And it was now, now that he was staring at her, that he noticed the.... fertilizer!? With a ribbon on it? How Val was that. |
