7. Overthinking
{Group 06, Prompt 03}
His thoughts could be brutal.
Jude tried not to listen to them when they whispered words of deep hurt. “Evan’s had two best friends before. Who’s to say he wouldn’t replace you in a heartbeat?’’ Staring up dully at the canopy of his four-poster bed in the dorm, he did nothing to quell the thoughts. This entire ordeal was exhausting to him; there was no energy for him to fight back.
Not even when he closed his eyes and finally drifted off into welcomed sleep was he left alone. In his dreams, he watched Evan not care for him anymore.
