Or have things changed?” She wanted to know it alllll!

Kennedy took another glance around the common room and nodded slowly. "It seems to be the same as the day I left," he said, taking a step closer towards the window. "The squid would come along a greet us once in a while. Does he still do that?" Kennedy steered away from his original question, which was inquiring if the squid was still alive. From experience he's learned not to ask about the status of a creature, because if they are, well, dead, it might bring on tears.

There was no squid at the moment, though. Not that he could see, so Kennedy wasn't sure if that was a sensitive question or not. He probably should have asked his niece first. Hmm.
