Jay was NOT running late this morning. Not at all. In case anyone was wondering WHY he was just now crossing through the atrium...well, he'd just be out for a quick coffee at the muggle coffee shop down the road. A little mid morning pick me up, that was IT. He had TOTALLY already gotten to work and gotten started on his assignments for the day...he ran over the excuse in his head a few more times, just to make sure he really got it down in case he was questioned...
Things were going swimmingly, until he crossed the atrium and passed the familiar fountain that he passed every single morning, he spotted none other than his own Department Head - UGH, he was about to be SO BUSTED.
At least, that was his initial thought...until he really took a second to process what he was looking at. Flamsteed was...IN the fountain? He knew his department head was eccentric but this was...something else. And totally unnecessary! Who knew the last time they changed out that water!
On top of it, Flamsteed was screaming about something. Wealth that you stole? Your two legged kin were safe for now? Jay just stood there and blinked a few times, taking in the scene in front of him. Bro. BROOOO. His department head had finally cracked. The pressure of it all had broken him.
Thankfully, it seemed some of the Ministry workers were already trying to tend to the situation, but Jay couldn't just stand back and do nothing. He knew Flamsteed - sort of - because he was his boss and all - and if he was going to be shipped off to St. Mungos any minute now, the least Jay could do was try to deescalate the situation. "Mr. Flamsteed? Sir? You uh...realize YOU have two legs too, right sir?"
Yes Jabari. THAT was the detail to focus on right now. He was mentally shaking his head at himself.
