Was Kinsay laughing at her? Ash couldn't tell. She didn't want to be paranoid, and Kinsay was pretty chill, but she had said 'interesting'. 'Interesting', 'special', and 'very cool' things were bad, Ash had learned that. As were interesting, special, and very cool things. "I don't have other clothes to wear. Hence the clothing store." Sure, she could have fixed it with magic, but Ash didn't LIKE using magic to do stuff like that. And she looked fine(although she was self-conscious anyway)!!! Better than usual, actually, cause her makeup wasn't even smudged and her hair looked like she had spent time on it. Ash just pretended Kinsay wasn't staring at her. "I'm looking for new shirts anyway."
Maybe they should not talk about her outfit. That would be cool. "Got any fun plans in Hogsmeade?" There was a lot of weird history between the two of them, but Kinsay wanted nothing more than to put all of that behind them. It all felt terribly inconsequential now. Sometimes she couldn't even remember why they hadn't been friends. Well. No, she did remember. But she didn't know why it happened the way it did. Why she couldn't be friends with someone just because her best friend didn't like them. It wasn't something Kinsay had the energy for anymore.
And though she didn't necessarily agree with Ashley's wardrobe choices, she wasn't laughing at the Ravenclaw either. She wouldn't ever do that. She knew how it felt to be laughed at and it wasn't fun. The staring, however, she couldn't help. But even that only lasted for a few seconds before she caught herself and went back to sorting through the rack of clothes. Ashley's answer was a bit confusing, but Kins didn't want to ask and risk looking silly. From what she had heard, Ash was pretty wealthy, right? So this didn't make a lot of sense. But .... Well. "If you need help stitching up the holes, I'm pretty good with a sewing needle." That was an offer, by the way. One she wouldn't be making more than once, so. "I'm meeting up with Nerina and Christianna for something to drink later," likely butterbeer. "But aside from that, not much. You?"
