It had taken him longer to get all of the pieces together and he had somehow misplaced his corkboard to pin all the pieces up on (it was currently in the Art Room with a half finished project pinned to it), so he was arriving a bit later than anticipated and just at the tail end of Professor Hernandez opening statement.
Box of color coded notecards clutched in his hand and a couple of stragglers that had falling out along the way clenched between his teeth in a last ditch effort not to be more late...Cooper approached the table and slipped into the seat beside his fellow seventh year while offering somewhat sheepish expressions all around. Girding Potion though...that was actually an answer to one of the cards in his deck, he was fairly certain. In fact...maybe with the category clenched between his teeth? Clearing his throat, Cooper pulled the bits of paper from his mouth and laid them out on the table - a stack of soft lavender cards with one deep purple with the words 'WET WINGED' - which was, naturally, a category where all the answers related to potions and brews that utilized wings and flying creatures in their brewing process. "Apologies," he smiled and tried not to sink his neck between his shoulders too much.
...anyway...hello, everyone. Small little waves to you so as not to disturb things more. Javier just gave Cooper a nod of acknowledgement and a small smile as we walked in - as if to say he didn't mind him being a little late. This was an informal study session, after all! Quote:

It was a break from her routine, so...yeah. She'd forgotten. Until about...well, she remembered.
At which point she'd promptly shoved her potions study things in her bag, shoved her feet into her shoes, and literally ran up the many flights of stairs between her dorm and the study hall. She'd been busy studying all of the things, potions included, since well, August, but she needed all the help she could get.
She stopped short, just outside the door, straightened her hair, and took a breath. Then Margaret walked coolly in, slightly apologetic smile on her face. She hadn't meant to be late, but...well, it wasn't class and it wasn't mandatory, so it wasn't like she could get in trouble. Plus, was that Cooper she'd seen slip in just ahead of her? "The girding potion, sir?" She wanted to make sure she heard right, as he'd asked the question right as she walked in. "Isn't that the one to improve endurance?" She slid into the seat next to Evan. "Though not sure why you'd bother, it smells so bad. Just put in the effort and practice, that's how you should improve endurance." Not that he'd asked about that. "Well, some people may have difficulties working out or finding time for it in their schedule," Javier pointed out as a counter argument to Mamie's answer. Although he wasn't sure why you'd want such short term endurance, unless it was something like the Triwizard Tournament...which had to be breaking some sort of rule. Quote:

Ash hadn’t fact checked it yet. "You thought you...drank an endurance potion once?" he asked, staring at the Ravenclaw in confusion. Why was she tasting potions she was unsure about in the first place?! Quote:

At least he wouldn’t feel fully out of place with Ev here. “You can say that,’’ his remarks continued as he followed the Ravenclaw and took a seat beside him. “Rea’s not well so I offered to take notes for her.” He watched other fifth years file in, raising a hand to distractedly acknowledge Ashley’s nod and, wishing that his sister would consider having study sessions at least once with Evan. Jude would really like it if the two of them got along. But as long as he was stuck at being just Evan’s friend, then he knew that Rea would never be fully civil with the other boy. He sighed to himself. Why was his older sister so complicated? Out of the corner of his eyes, Jude caught Cooper’s little wave and sent back one of his own. Gosh, the older guy had an awful lot going on there, didn’t he?
The Girding Potion? The Hufflepuff pulled his thoughts together. He grabbed a quill but since there were no notes to be written as yet, twirled it between his fingers of his right hand. After listening to a few replies, he raised his left. "Question, professor. I believe the maximum dosage of this potion is two vials. But at what point in time? Is it two vials per day? Per month? Per lifetime?” "Two per 24 hours. Any more than that can wreck havoc on your liver," Javier explained with a smile. "Excellent question!" Quote:

Teachers knew it was, and considering how often he bothered them all with questions? They knew how intense he also was about it.
But right, question. The girding potion - endurance. He jotted it down in his notebook, and was about to respond with thoughts on it, before Margaret was sliding into the chair next to him and turned to give her a smile as well. He was pleased to see her and that she hadn't already grown sick of studying, she'd been putting a lot of work in this term as well. "Hey." He offered quietly, returning Cooper's wave simultaneously, before turning back to the group. "While avoiding the smell probably would be beneficial, I think the potion probably has it's place when it's a situation in which you absolutely need the magic assistance." Normally he'd agree on hard work, but in life or death situations... that shot of endurance might have been helpful. "Very good," Javier nodded in approval at Evan's answer. While many people would never have a need for such a potion in their lives, some people DID and therefore, it was serving a purpose. "Alright, next question...what potion is the Deflating Draught an antidote for?" he asked.
