~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. No cake? Then again, it was all about Violet and what she liked. She probably wasn’t too huge a fan of cake but it certainly sounded like she was into meat pies. “Whatever you like,” Jude remarked cheerfully. “If you need company for your mini celebration, I’ll tag along.” Jude didn’t know the Slytherin that well but if none of her friends couldn’t make it at the time to celebrate with her… well, they could get to know each other better, couldn’t they?
Amstern’s comment had Jude’s ear perking up. “You were a Hufflepuff, Professor?” he asked unnecessarily but excitedly. How COOL was that? “True, true. Everything there’s true. Is that something you miss a lot about the Puff common room?” Then he asked Violet, “Have you ever seen the Squid pass by one of the windows in the Slytherin common room?” Because Jude knew that room was located under the Lake.
The Hufflepuff noted that Amstern kept the topic fixed to his grandchildren. He didn’t mind though, figuring there would be a reason for that. “They’re all grown up then?” He himself couldn’t wait to go out on his own and to experience all the things, one of which included travelling. Jude nodded. “I do. It makes me feel less homesick.” Even as a fourth year - and someone who had started Hogwarts from his first year - he still missed his parents a great deal when he was away. A drawback of coming from a tightly knit family. He was about to say more but suddenly Violet’s magpie soared onto Amstern’s head. Not seeing anything wrong with this latest development, he actually let out one of his soft laughs. “I think he likes Professor Amstern… or rather, the treats.” |
