The question of summer. It still was nothing he had an interesting answer for. And it certainly felt odd just... having small talk. But it really was probably the easiest place to start, unless they would have just preferred to skirt each other entirely. Which also seemed silly, since despite what she thought there was no bad blood on his end. It was just... uncomfortable, after everything. Even more so based on the fact he did have bad blood with her girlfriend.
Or... ex girlfriend? Considering Solana was here and no longer at Beauxbatons, that seemed an option.
"Summer was fine. It was a quiet one. I've been studying for OWLs already." He was intent on making the studying his entire personality for the term so he had an excuse to ignore everything else. "What about you?"
Solana casually ignored the questioning glance, if they were small talking, he didn't need to know about how she really felt, that was deeper and well they weren't there yet. She needed to get certain things out of the way.. before she took a deep dive..
Especially since they really hadn't talked in a few years. There was that one time at the orphanage in France.. that was about it. She had pretty much stayed out of his way last term, before she bounced because she couldn't take it anymore. And that worked out soooo well for her.
But no.. this year, she was here to face things.. Or at least try to. And try to get Evan back as.. anything she could have him as really.
Though she internally winced as he asked how her summer was.. Merlin, that came back to bite her in the back of the ankle. Fwoopers above..
"I have study charts and schedules all made up if you want to take a look? Color Coded of course." She said with a half smile. They used to bond over that sort of stuff. Ahh back when they were young and innocent.
"Ahh, my summer? Well the end of it was okay, I met a new friend, went to Disney with K, Ever and Tavvy, was in New York for a week or so. Maya and I are trying to be friends.." There! See, happy things that didn't have to do with what happened at the beginning of summer. "I'm going to therapy, so I don't run away from my problems.." A soft scoff came from her.. "Chiyo dropped me so hard last year cause I kept bouncing.." But, her girlfriend had never really gotten her after her parents had died.. and after the fight with Evan.. Sol had distanced herself even more, she was glad it was over.. She felt freer now. |
