There was still a clenched fist once he retracted it from pointing at them.
He only watched as they then began to swing from the compartment door like a monkey, or lazy sloth to bothered to get all four of their limbs onto a branch. Take your pick. "Are you new? Starting Hogwarts for the first time?" His eyes followed them as they swung back and forth. "Well one day you're shouting about not wanting to go to your Grandfather's on his very porch, the next thing you know your Grandfather's gone up and vanished in front of everyone's eyes." "Th-that's a good point." Moose said rather shocked. Why hadn't he thought of that. Wasn't that in some History of Magic lesson, or no...it didn't matter. Magic stole him from his normal, better, and less threatening non-magical life. "I'm muggleborn so magic was entirely new to me." Frankly there is still so much that is becoming new to him about this magical world. "Am I new," Milo repeated the question, considering it just as he considered the moose's clenched fist. Before he could embark on an exploration of the question, and then an exploration of the answer, he'd been provided with an elaboration. "Starting Hogwarts for the first time." Repetition was a valid form of answer. Easier too, though it wasn't consistent with the way he preferred to turn a phrase.
For a long moment, Milo went quiet again, a fairly absent expression on his face, which was now turned directly towards the moose. This kept happening, possibly because of the train situation, possibly because this was the new trend, a time of great change and movement; it's the most transient time of the year. Milo didn't know yet. Didn't know much about anything in that long, empty moment.
The long, empty moment ended, but he still kept his silence a little longer, swaying lightly in the doorframe, fingers burning. Muggles knew magic, or, rather, about magic. Milo knew this to be fact, from his experience in muggle schools. He also knew that they were frightened of it whenever it actually happened in front of them. Or to them. He looked at the moose a moment longer, then directed his eyes upwards, intently regarding the lamp hanging from the compartment ceiling. Synchronised. "My grandfather doesn't have a porch."
