She still saw some of that out on the platform and even in some compartments, which she avoided going into. That is how she ended up in the compartment of maybe the most emotionless person, second to her.

He had heard the door of the compartment slid open but Daniel had not bothered to open his eyes to see who had joined him. It was only when he heard a girl's voice that he moved to pinch the bridge of his nose to showcase that he was irritated already.
He opened up his eyes and had to take a second to adjust them to the light above him before turning his gaze at Serena. If people thought that he was apathetic, then he was just a prince. She was the queen. It did bother him though, being labelled as such though. It wasn't that he never showed his emotions. Because he did but he was careful not to wear them on his sleeves.
With half of the student population at Hogwarts currently crying and telling their goodbyes to their friends, Daniel was silently pleased that it was Serena who had entered his compartment.

"It's ridiculous. It's as if they don't trust us at all"
