open post! :3 (Ry's the UK ambassador to JPN) Jedi Master•General Iroh•Java Junkie• King ♛ Stefan •Mycroft Holmes•Dragon Lord•Druid Boy "Ry! Could you please, for the love of Merlin...quit it!" Healer River Reed arrived at the designated spot for the Ministry's yearly mingling with his older brother Ryden. The news of his older brother coming to visit the UK and the Ministry was surely unexpected, but nonetheless a welcome surprise. What he didn't fancy was his brother picking on him like they were children again. They were already in their late 50s, and he thought it was foolish to act like they were young and loose-limbed. Both were well aware that their bodies weren't like how it used to be.
And speaking of activities, River took in the scene before him, nodding in approval. The G&S and DIMC did a superb job setting the place up. It somehow reminded him of his short stint at Hogwarts when he too hosted an Abominable Snow Race. That had been fun, and he hoped the school kept the tradition. It was something to be had when snow was bountiful.
Anyhow, the Healer was here, ready for all and any bodily mishaps that may occur. "I suppose Conley will be here shortly," he said, flattening and then fluffing his bangs back, turning to his older brother. "Please, behave yourself. Please."
---------------------- UNbelievable.
Ryden Reed chuckled as he walked behind his youngest sibling, as they made their way towards the Ministry event. Unbelievable, that River was still the little River he knew from decades ago, even better, his brother appeared to be the responsible one between the two of them. River insisted that they come along early to make an impression, even pointed out that he shouldn't be late being an Ambassador and all that. What River didn't know was he had perks as an ambassador, and being fashionably late was one of them. But of course, Ryden was never late. He rarely used his ambassador privileges, given that he loved his work despite its stressful nature. "You need not worry, brother. I am perfectly capable of behaving." he said, dusting off his jacket and straightened his back as he, too, took a good look around.
Ah, the new broom model. Jakub would've loved to try that one out if he was there. And of course, the Japanese spread. Clever of the DIMC to have a bit of culinary diplomacy going on. As they say, the easiest way to win hearts and minds is through the palate and stomach. Hopefully the majority will love the food, considering that the Ministry chose the safest menu, in his humble opinion. "Yes, I have been told by the man himself. He'll be here shortly," he replied, half turning his body towards his healer brother, who, by the looks of it, was already on the lookout for possible accidents. "River...do enjoy yourself a bit, will you? Here, have an onigiri." Ryden passed the rice treat to his brother, and took notice of the others who were already at the scene. "And while you're at it, do introduce me to your colleagues." it was just proper, no?
