Contrary to his usual behavior, remarkably so, he was not purposefully ignoring anyone...THERE WAS JUST A GIANT SQUID NAMED BARTHOLOMEW HENRY RIGHT HERE AND THAT SORT OF HAD ALL OF HIS ATTENTION.
And since there had just been talk about going to getting professors and all that, Atlas was under the impression that Kinsay (when he did notice her while pocketing his phials full of lake water) was off to do. Hopefully not to the same place as other people, like himself who had dibs on the Creatures professor. It was a good idea to split up and be more efficient...and it was daytime so it was safe to do so.
