Huh. Maybe he should have brought a friend. Except 10am on a Saturday, was a difficult time to find someone to come ref a broom race. That and the more pressing reason was that he wasn't sure that he had that many friends. Bella probably would have done it, or maybe Maya, but as they were in Slytherin, he hadn't thought to plan that far in advance to ask them. Also they might have showed bias toward him, since he wasn't sure they knew Mamie much, and that would have defeated the whole purpose of the ref.

He shook his head. "No, i don't think ... we shouldn't bother him on the weekend. I guess we don't need one." It was just a fleeting thought he'd had on the walk from the towers and he probably shouldn't have vocalized it. "So uh... just to the end of the training area and back?"
