be curious, not judgmental

Sometimes, Kiz's meekness hurt his heart. Actually, it was all the time. Constantly. Teddy leaned up to give his not-so-baby sister a kiss on the cheek as if to remind her that everything was okay. She was with her two favorite human beings (or at least her two favorite siblings) in the world. Fi was okay, and they were safe. Well - as safe as one could be at Hogwarts. At Fi's rebuttal, Teddy grinned, and he shook his head good-naturedly when Kiz ruffled his hair. "Everyone's allowed to feel what they feel, of course, but in the same breath, we can also find beauty. It's cool that it can all co-exist."

They'd all done an awful lot of mourning over the last few years, and while the healing process was slow, Teddy had found it most helpful for him to actively work to shift his perspective. Intrusive thoughts and memories were creeping in? He forced himself to recall the bravery, the heroes, the selflessness, and the kindness during those times. Where there was bad, he found that there was always some good, if he looked hard enough. That was his default coping mechanism, but if Fi really needed a good cry, Teddy could shift back to the evil, bad, and terrible, too. It was always lurking just under the surface, they knew.

A smile returned at Kiz's questioning about the pygmy puff, to which Teddy articulately responded with, "Mhrrhrmm," and a dismissive hand-wave. The details weren't important, Kinsay Cassandra.

As Fi helped with the change of conversation, Teddy wormed his way out of their laps and made himself comfortable on his back on the edge of Kiz's bedsheet to admire the sky. "Basket carrier. Got it." Although he was serious, there was the slightest hint of amusement in his response; he'd accept any role bestowed upon him, but basket carrier was less-than-glamorous. Even so, Fi and Kiz were both good at coming up with fun things to do on their own, but together, they were quite the pair. Teddy was elated by the possibilities of their brainstorming.

"Reckon we've found most secret passageways. Can't imagine much has slipped our notice, though I can ask around." The castle itself was cool and held lots of secrets, but all three of them had long been curious explorers who enjoyed knowing things. "What else?"
