The seventh year’s face lit up. “That would be great, thank you.’’ She’d be lying if she said she was confident about getting a boat out on her own. “Indeed I am. Samm’s also very excited to take in the views.” Claudine indicated to the rat whose upper body was sticking out of a front pocket. “Say hi to Professor Kazmi, Samm.” Her pet turned beady little eyes up to the man and twitched its nose as though sniffing Kazmi.
Kamran opened his mouth to say that he didn't think there was such a thing as too busy, but fortunately thought better of it before a single syllable could escape. He knew it wasn't actually true, was just one of those things he said, but he also knew better to say it to the students, who might decide to agree and promptly take on too much. Blaze was a seventh year; she had enough to do.
So he seamlessly transitioned into a different statement, after just a moment's pause. "Not at all. I like to think I've got that balance thing still more or less under control. But I'm very glad to hear you still find my lessons fun." He nodded, and moved the couple of feet over to where the boats were stored, in order to get it untethered and set up. "Hm?" Samm?
A glance gave him his answer, and he allowed a little smile. "Ah. Hello there, Samm," Kamran greeted the rat, as he felt he may be waiting for some time for the creature to commence the pleasantries.
