"Oh, sorry," she ducked her head apologetically, setting down her half-eaten biscuit. The courtyard is sad, Phoebe was right. It was just. It was just that. Well. Kiz didn't think she could manage to carry all the picnic stuff all the way out to the lake before her arm fell off and she couldn't risk using magic (as it would probably end in disaster as it always did and would so totally ruin the whole picnic before it even started). So. The courtyard was easiest. But ... if it made Fifi sad, maybe the risk of a dismembered arm would've been worth it. She'd remember this for the actual goodbye picnic.
It was real nice of Teddy to try and turn it around though. She ruffled his hair affectionately as he waxed poetic. "Did a pygmy puff really give birth here?" She scrunched her nose as she thought about how gross and messy a pygmy puff birth might be. "Or did you just make that up?" To make them feel better about how sad the courtyard is? HMMM?
