The thought of ditching her while she was climbing up the tree had crossed his mind. But he had said that he would climb up too and he did keep his promises sometimes. Not always. But today he would. He reached for the branch that Remy had used to climb earlier and pulled himself up.
The task was more difficult than he had expected and as he reached for the second branch and was hauling himself up, the boy took a breather. He needed to get physically fitter.
