Ancient Runes was to Evan as Divination apparently was to Maya. As when she mentioned it, his nose wrinkled. "You can have my texts. After my abysmal display last term, I'm not trying again." He didn't do well not being good at something, and while this usually would have spurred him to just try harder, in this case... he was going to cut his losses. "What other extracurriculars do you want to take? Or... are you taking?" He'd already had his word ready to go this time around, so he placed down wand, kicking it back to her.

She gave a slight nod when he said it was just a suggestion. Maya wasn't a big fan of asking people for things in general. Not wanting to seem like she wasn't appreciative of Evan's suggestion, she did look up from her tiles and flashed him a quick smile. "Won't be too long till we're home for the holidays," she said, trying to brighten things up a bit. Not that she really needed to - of all her siblings, Maya had a feeling that Evan was the one who understood her the most.

"Have you guys tried to grow gillyweed?" Maya asked curiously. She would love to try her hand at it though she did prefer looking at plants that were already grown. "Maybe you guys should try to lure him to the surface with some bait... like fishing?" She let out a giggle herself when Evan caught the tile. "And if you bring it up again, I will be denying it."

Maya set down her tiles on the board, spelling out newt. "It was that bad?" She went to grab a few tiles to replenish those that she had placed. For Evan to give up on a course, it must've been extremely difficult and that made Maya a bit nervous. "I'll be taking Care of Magical Creatures... Arithmancy..." Maya had been contemplating taking Muggle Studies, unsure if it was a good usage of her time and had ultimately decided to add that to her schedule as well. "Also Muggle Studies. What about you?" Flying was a no go for the Slytherin. She wanted to practice it more before embarrassing herself in class.
