Very few people(excluding her bodyguards and her boyfriend) said they were proud of her... other than Father. He said it to her sometimes as an afterthought, and she was never quite sure why. He clearly thought it was important for her to know that, but if he was REALLY proud of her, then how come he shut himself in his room and didn’t talk to her? That didn’t even make sense. But Quinn... they said they were proud and she didn’t hesitate to believe it. She would totally hug them right now, only she didn’t know if they liked hugs. She laughed. “You’d think that because I’m an oversharer, I’d constantly talk about my feelings.” Actually, it made perfect sense for her to cover her emotions with useless nonsensical information, but they were both laughing right now and Ash didn’t wanna ruin the moment by mentioning it. It could be dealt with later. For now, she just wanted to hang out with her friend Quinn.

She slid down the wall until she was sitting down again. ”That’s my best friend and boyfriend. But he used to just be my best friend. And in this memory, he’s only a stranger. Some random person.” And she saved him anyway. You know, that was the first time she showed signs of magic, so it often felt like she was trading his life for hers or something. Despite the fact that they were both very much alive. But... it was worth it. Even if they weren’t dating. Even if they weren’t friends. Theodore was a good person. She couldn’t just let him DIE or something. That would be wrong. “I know it doesn’t sound like a happy memory, but it’s the strongest positive memory I have. Better than sitting alone in my mansion by FAR. And patronuses are all about your will to live and things like that... I don’t know. All the pieces fit together fine in my head.” It just... felt right. And every time she really thought about it, it caused the feelings that made her feel like she could cast a patronus. That meant she was on the right track, yes?
Quinn's eyes widened and they nodded again with understanding. "Ohhhh! I see, I see..." They examined the drawing again. "Well, I guess I could see why this would be a happy memory then. Maybe there are other memories with him you could use, too?" Quinn picked up the mansion comment, and it sounded scarily similar to his own situation. "When you say alone in your mansion... you weren't close with your family, then?" Quinn hoped his questions weren't too invasive, he was just curious about his friend. And they sounded like they came from similar places.
