Especially when those people were always laughing at her for being strange and feeling sad all the time. So here she was in the boathouse. What was she doing in the boathouse? She was sorta drawing her best memory(maybe that would help her produce a patronus?), but she was also sorta mediating. She wasn't sure whether art was a part of the meditating or the meditating was part of her art. It didn't really matter, did it? After about an hour of drawing and erasing and starting over and pausing, a picture had started to take shape. There was a girl, and she was on a surfboard, and she was reaching for a hand. and then everything else was blue. It wasn't anywhere near completed art yet, but she could recognize the features. She leaned back against the wall, deciding to take a short break to breathe and make sure she wasn't feeling upset or tense.
This term, Quinn really wanted to focus on plants. Obviously their favorite subject was Herbology, so they already knew a lot about plants, but Quinn felt like this was the first term they were coming into uninhibited and unencumbered by outside baggage. They could really just... focus on school. And friends. And doing what made them happy. And that was plants.
So today Quinn decided to look at aquatic plant life. Study the shores of the lake and such. They had been walking around the edge of the lake for a while now, crouching down to observe different plants and fungi growing close to or just past the edge of the water. Most of it was stuff they'd be able to see just about anywhere, or that they'd studies in class, but some of it was things they hadn't seen before. Small little plants they didn't know the name of, but that they hadn't the tools to examine properly. They
did, however, have some parchment and a quill to take down notes, and planned to do some research in the library later on.
As they passed the boathouse, they noticed Ash inside with what looked like a drawing. They put a hand on the doorway, purple bracelet on full display, and peered inside.
"Hey, Ash. Drawing in the boathouse?"
