"I think I'm going to try to figure out how to recreate the squid in the lake." She had thought she saw the squid pass from time to time in the common room window but wasn't too sure. "I'm also practicing a charm to animate them, it might be fun to create a zoo." She looked up from her tiles. "I think next summer I'll ask eomma to enroll me in some painting classes." Since she had started to dabble in calligraphy, she had found it quite fun and painting seemed like it would be a step up from it.
She knew for a fact that she personally did not bring a lot of money to school. She actually had given a good portion of it to their parents to act as a bank. Maya also had hidden some in her room, not that she would tell any of her siblings that. "Maybe not... maybe I should owl the flyers to their parents...?" Wouldn't that be crossing a line though? But it seemed like the best course of action as the parents would be the ones who actually wanted their kids to do better in school.
"Oh nice," she said quietly when Evan put the tiles down. While Maya was not a big fan of divination she did like Professor Euka. That was mostly due to the fact that the professor was also the librarian. "Maybe I'll go stop by her office to ask?"
Then she placed her tiles on the board, careful to not disrupt the other tiles. Emeric.
Chess was much more his preferred game to play, but since she liked Scrabble he was fine with playing this too.
"What are the most recent ones you learned? Mastered Yoda or any Star Wars ones for Christmas yet?" Because he was quite confident there is nothing his Appa would have liked more than the constant reminder for their light saber battles.
"The squid would be really cool. If you can figure it out, will you make a second one?" Because he could think of someone who would love one and he could pay Maya for it for Christmas.
"Or teach me." He supposed that would have more thought to it, but he wasn't sure if that bothered him in this instance.
"An animated zoo would be a really cool idea. Maybe you could get extra credit for it from the new Care of Magical Creatures Professor?" If she did a bunch of magical creatures anyways. He didn't actually know which, if any, of the Professors offered extra credit but he was certainly all for finding it out.
"You should do painting. I'm sure Eomma would want to do that for you." She usually encouraged their creativity and interests.
Hmm... mailing fliers specifically to parents too didn't strike him as being a particularly good idea because then students would be angry at her for that breach of confidentiality. It sounded kind of like dobbing to him, and despite the Headmaster's instructions in the feast... this was not a good thing to do, not great for making friends or building relationships.
"Maybe you could give the information to all the Professor's and they could encourage students or reach out to parents themselves for anyone interested?? With pressure from a Professor I feel like students would be more likely to owl home for money themselves."
He nodded, watching her play her word and staring down again at his tiles - the newly ones he forgot to sort while he got lost in conversation so he did that now, laying down a few other tiles to spell out
Bezoar.
"I think you should. Wouldn't hurt to try."
